Pidyon petter chamor

The mitzvah of Pidyon Petter Chamor (Hebrew: פדיון פטר חמור‎ – “Redemption of the firstborn donkey”), is a mitzvah where a firstborn (bechor) donkey is redeemed by gifting a lamb to the Kohen. The lamb is not required to be firstborn.

This mitzvah, is listed as חובת הגוף (obligation of the body) and thus mandatory for jews in all places -including outside the land of Israel.
