Bohak, a shade of white lesser than the minimal shade of nega’im, is not an indicator of tumah -it is too weak in color.
An important detail
Bohak is fascinating in the aspect that although it is considered as arresting the advance of הפך כולו לבן since it isn’t white enough and thus can stop the person from being called tahor. On the flip side though, once the person is pronounced by the kohen as tahor due to הפך כולו לבן טהור הוא – the bohak making an appearance after the pronunciation will not revert the person to a tammei state.)Sifra tazria min. Ch. 94)
Shiny bohak
The bohak is tahor in all instances including if it has a shine to it, since its grade of white doesn’t make the grade of being white enough.
Where the bohak to whiten in color up to the degree of the whiteness of an egg membrane, it becomes a candidate as an indicator of tumah (Sifra tazria min. Ch. 141)
