Michve מכוה

The Torah discusses michve right after shchin, michve (or michwe) is an accidental scalding of the skin by fire, boiling water, a red hot iron or basically anything that burns.

The michve alone is not a call for tumah but it, like the shchin, can be a host for the shades of white as well as the discoloring of (at least) two white hairs that indicate tumah.

The timing of when the michve can be a host for the above gets a bit tricky, it cannot be an entirely fresh wound (יכול מורד..) nor can it be already healed (יכול עד שתעשה צלקת..) but its gotta be somewhere in the middle process of healing (חיתה ולא חיתה).

Another aspect of the michve is that it’s potential tumah indicating colors can be any and all shades of white although the posek mentions only bahereth and potuch, this is inferred by the extra wording או לבנה.

Ch. 113).
