Sapachath ספחת

Sapachat is the lesser shade of nega possibilities. As its name implies (ספחת -“addition” in an inferior way) it is a mere tag-along in terms of whiteness intensity and shine but is nonetheless join-able to the primary whites of se’th and bahereth.{{1}} So, this sapachath, making an appearance adjacent to a se’eth or bahereth is an indicator of tumah.

The sapachath can also appear as a remnant of either the se’eth or the bahareth where they to diminish in their whiteness intensity{{2}}

What it means

Just as the sapachet is secondary to the more intense coloring of se’eth and bahereth so too it’s meaning implies a shortcoming in the afflicted person along this line; it indicates the individual’s obsession with acquiring monetary gain which is likewise superfluous and secondary to the
person’s primary wealth indicator which is good midoth (personality traits) of social interaction and Torah knowledge acquisition which become part and parcel of the actual person.{{3}}
